Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy

A Natural Approach to Better Health That Keeps You Moving.

  • Massage Therapy treatment for a wide variety of health issues
  • Massage Therapy treatments include:
    • Acute and chronic soft tissue injuries
    • Repetitive strain injuries
    • Sports injuries
    • Motor vehicle accidents
    • Pregnancy Massage
    • Relaxation Massage
  • Utilizing various techniques such as:
    • Swedish Massage
      • Massage Therapy technique involving treating the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart.  This technique is beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
    • Deep Tissue Massage
      • Massage Therapy technique similar to Sweedish massage, but with deeper pressure that is considered beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension.  The focus of this technique is on the deepest layer of the muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia.
    • Myofascial Release
      • Massage Therapy technique that involves the stretching and moving of tissues with the hands to release inappropriate adhesion’s within the structure and reorganize the chaotic fibers into a healthy scar, free from restrictions.  Successful release often leads to a postural correction, greater endurance, ease in strength training and relief from pain.
    • Trigger Point
      • Massage Therapy technique that is specifically designed to alleviate the source of the pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release.  The results and benefits of this massage therapy technique are releasing constricted areas in the muscles thus alleviating pain.
    • Hydrotherapy Modalities
      • Massage Therapy utilizes the applications of heat or ice to improve overall health and aid in pain management.
    • Workers Massage Therapy
      • We accept massage therapy patients through WorkplaceNL
    • Myofascial Release Work
      • Hand on Massage Therapy technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.
    • Myofascial Cupping
      • Massage Therapy technique whereby a vacuum is created in a cup, drawing the skin (fascia) up into the cup and separating the layers of fascia.  This effect draws new blood to the area as the new blood rushes to the individual levels and it helps to remove stagnation that may have been present.  Additional benefits can include, helping increase circulation, decrease fascia restrictions, increase the range of motion, and relieves muscle spasms that often cause pain.
    • Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ-D)
      • Can be the cause of pain and spasms in areas of the head, neck, and jaw. Symptoms associated with TMJ Dysfunction can include headaches, earaches, tinnitus, audible sounds when chewing, and a decrease in mobility of the jaw while eating or speaking. Some of the causes of TMJ Dysfunction include whiplash, bruxism (jaw clenching and grinding the teeth), stress, trigger points, and postural dysfunction. Massage Therapy techniques are used to treat the associated causes which in turn will aid in decreasing symptoms associated with Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction.
    • Stretching
      • Massage Therapy helps encourage muscle length, joint health and range of motion through active and passive stretching techniques.
